Upon college graduation, he began to work for Nippon Kokan, a steel plumbing company now part of JFE Holdings, Inc.
On Nov 6th, 1967, Mr. Takeuchi married to his beloved spouse, Michiko Hashimoto.
Together, they established their very first home.
Having the vision of pursuing for higher professional degree, in 1970, he and Michiko left their home in Tokyo and traveled to the United States to study in Indiana University.
In 1986, the International Businessmen’s Who’s Who (third edition, 1986) included the following addition about Mr. Takeuchi's carrer.

Mr. Takeuchi came back to Japan from Saudi Arabia after 1988. It was truly a home coming for him.

In the mean time, Mr. Takeuchi left his company and worked for the Toa Steel between 1996-2000, and the KVH in 1999-2000.
Hiroki began his Ph. D program at UCLA in 2000. Mrs. and Mr. Takeuchi's trip to California changed to going more frequently to Los Angeles since then.
After retirement, Mr. Takeuchi wrote extensively for the journal, Industry and Energy (産業とエネルギー).
Except for the last one, he had written ten articles for each series. The title for each series is as follows:

(5) "The Nation's Direction and the Company's Direction" ( 国の行方、企業の行方), May 2010 - September 2010. (His last article was the fifth one in the series.)
In 2008, Hiroki obtained his tenure-track position at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Both Mrs. and Mr. Takeuchi had taken turn visiting their son in this southwestern state.
